Prague… the city of wonders

I greatly enjoyed my day today. It was so nice and peaceful to wake up and see tiny flakes of snow floating down outside! What made the snow even better was that they flakes actually looked like snowflakes! They were star shaped! So we woke up, some of us went to the bakery for breakfast… I got apple strudel and a sausage roll with some hot chocolate to wash it down. Delicious! Then we all split and explored Prague! My group had a great time walking the city, buying scarves and nourishment and watching the Astronomical Clock "cuckoo" at noon! We bought ice cream bonbons and hot chocolate… now when I say hot chocolate I mean literally melted chocolate in a cup! It was scrumptious! So after we bought nourishment we searched for scarves. Scarf lady #1 was grouchy and shooed us out of the shop for not putting the scarves back in place properly, while scarf lady #2 was the sweetest thing and was so excited when we told her "thank you" in Czech! She was also super excited that we were musicians because when we get famous she can say we bought scarves from her! Once we accomplished our scarf hunt we walked to this little island that we thought was a park. Well… It was a park, but there were only paths and benches… and oh, yeah, work out obstacle things!!! We had so much fun! Once we did our "work out" for the day we walked the city and explored. As we were walking by this Catholic church we saw wooden figures outside and decided to go inside and explore! No pictures were allowed but the inside was immaculate and there were stairs leading up to what was called the museum. It was a little room with figurine clothes and other gifts from places. They were exquisite.  Up the stairs a little further was a statue of the Virgin Mary and there were no signs… so I can say I held the hand of the Virgin Mary! Shhhh… We traversed the sidewalks back to the hostel after this. Once we dropped our loot in the room we set off for the John Lennon wall and to get dinner. I had Goulash soup! Yummmmm. Next we got back to the hostel… again… and set off for the opera Tosca! The woman playing Tosca was great and I really want her dress… and her necklace… and her tiara… Anyway, after the opera we all trudged back to the hostel and some went for dinner and those of us who ate before went to wrote blog posts! By the way, don't do laundry at Hostel Mango. Gah. If you want that story you'll have to ask me later. For now, I am going to sleep before our tour tomorrow and the next big adventure!
These musicians come out every night and the singer has a beautiful voice
