fun, fun, fun

Today was a whirlwind. I cannot believe we leave for Prague tomorrow morning! As for this morning… we went to church at the Berliner Dome and listened to an English translation. The inside of the church was magnificent and there were two baptisms today. After church we headed over to a flee market. It was a lot of fun and we got waffles! By the time we walked the length of the market (and it was quite long) the group was freezing. Our next stop was the Jewish Museum. I was surprised that we had to go through security before going into the museum, but I guess that makes sense. We also had to check our coats as well as bags before going into the exhibit part. The building was built in a zigzag shape and at a slope. There were cool spots built in to give people the idea of being one of the Jewish peoples like a "garden" that was tall pillars at varying heights outside that you walk through and feel disoriented. Another spot was this "Holocaust Tower"which is an empty room, really tall, with no heating and only one small window giving off natural light. When I walked in there I was cold and didn't know where to go. I tried walking a few steps and felt like I was tipping over. After the museum we came back to the hostel, then got dinner, then went to the Berlin Philharmonic in the Philharmonie building. The inside was so cool and angular! All the sound was bounced right back to the middle of the room where the orchestra was, and most of us were sitting three rows from the musicians!!! It was amazing and the orchestra sounded spectacular! Dr. Powell and Annalise had seats that were practically above the musicians! It was all so great. We got back to the hostel and I packed to leave to Prague in the morning, then showered, and now my blog post. Guess it's time for bed now… Prague, here we come!
