I love Leipzig!!!!!!!!
Well I have to say I definitely went to church tonight!!! The Holy Spirit is flowing!!!!!! Our first concert of the trip was Queen Esther Marrow and the Harlem Gospel Singers and I have to say it was AMAZING!!! I was clapping, moving and dancing the whole time to fabulous gospel music. I have decided my goal in life is to join the group, that's possible right???? Anyways I have to say that I love Leipzig. I have always wanted to come here since when I was young I found out that Edvard Grieg went to the conservatory here. I even had Edvard Grieg tea at a cafe this morning. It tasted like Norway (exceedingly delicious that is!!!). The lady at the cafe thought I was a bit strange for ordering a cappuccino and a tea, but hey, a girl has gotta have her coffee and Grieg tea! Sticking with the music composer theme, I had a Schumann Dream coffee and Schumann torte at the Coffee Baum, the oldest coffee house in Leipzig! Grieg, Wagner, and Schumann all visited there, pretty awesome! As for some other adventures we got lost in a church/government building last night, we blew out the power on our floor in the hostel (note to not stick hands in electrical outlets Hannah D.) and explored the lovely Schumann house and Bach museum today. We also went into the St. Thomas church where Bach was kapellmeister. It was amazing and surreal to see the organs and Bach's grave. I couldn't help but just sit and gaze at the church in awe. There have been many displays of old musical instruments too, the bassoons look pretty darn cool! The food here has been delicoius, oh and the beer here is pretty fabulous too! Leipzig has been wonderful and I can't wait to see what Berlin has in store for us next. Stay tuned for some chicken pictures in the next couple days, they will be hilarious!! :)
