Our J-Term 2014 adventure into some of the worlds greatest musical centers in history is really taking shape. I for one have been very hard at work securing our concerts. We have some incredibly serious things to see like Tosca and Boris Gudunov! Some of the best orchestras in the world like the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics. A ballet, chamber music, modern works and much MUCH more. We will be going to museums, the birth homes of composers, great conservatories, great concert halls. We will be seeing great music in the places that saw their first performances. There is no better context than this!
Part of the course is that each participant is required to post 11 entries to this blog.  Some of them will be serious reflections on concerts, some will be a simple account of our adventures and others will be silly stories of our adventures along the way.

There will be ample opportunity for random and silly stories.  We will be riding planes, Eurail trains and auto-busses.  Relying on the terrific public transport systems of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic!  We are staying in Hostels and will be there in winter!  It is a going to be a FANTASTIC journey!  I will encourage and post many pictures!!!!
The point of the of the entire trip is of course learning about all the AMAZING music we will be experiencing first hand!  So I thought I would kick off the blog with a run down of where we will be and what we will be seeing!  I hope you enjoy following the classes exploits.  Our last trip generated almost ten thousand hits!  Here is hoping we are so interesting, we shatter that mark.  This is going to be a wonderful and wild ride!
